My life was short, I drew few breaths

From earth’s sweet atmosphere.

But it was not as sweet as Jesus' breath

When He welcomed me up here.

 My life was short, I drew no breath

From earth’s sweet atmosphere.

Could it be as sweet as Jesus’ breath

When He welcomed me up here?

 As we honor the one who gave his life protecting others, let us also honor the One who is the Giver of eternal life.

 But You’ve called my daughter Home, Lord,

And she seems so far away.

Hold her in Your arms, Lord,

Until my Homegoing day.

But You’ve called my son home, Lord,

And he seems so far away.

Hold him in Your arms, Lord,

Until my own Homegoing day.

 He has made the supreme sacrifice;

He gave his life serving others.

The Bible says there's no greater love

Than to lay down you life for another.

How my heart is breaking,

For I miss my loved one so.

Even though it was Your will Lord,

It was hard to let her go.

The canvas of my life

Started out pure and white,

Then the brush of this world

Layered colors dark as night.

A 9-11-2001 Poem 

Where was God on that fateful day,

The day that took my loved one away?

Why didn’t He stop those evil men

And bring my loved one home again?

 I was right there with your loved one,

Holding them safely in My hand,

Telling them that I loved them

And that I had another plan;
